Interfacial Tension
It is the active force at the interface of liquids which attempts to draw in the molecules from the surface deeper inside the liquid. In the process, the liquid forms a minimal surface area. If there are no external forces active on the surface, the liquid will form a cohesive ball. The cause of interfacial tension is the mutual attraction of liquid molecules.
