Nanoparticles
Particles with a size in the range of nanometres, spherical, as a rule, with narrow (monodisperse) size distribution. They often possess a core/shell-particle composition allowing for the adjustment of radiopacity, anti-bacterial activity and refraction index, including surface functionalisation for the coupling of active agents, in addition to other desired properties like scratch resistance, abrasion resistance.
