Wetting Test
In order that the coating and/or adhesive adhere to a surface, the surfaces must be degreased before the coating and/or adhesion takes place. The degreasing influence on cleaned components is measured by means of a wetting test. Different testing liquids applied on the surface to be examined measure the wettability of the surface. At a contact angles below 90°, the surface is regarded as wetted with the testing liquid, the surface is regarded as degreased. The contact angle must be calculated accurately to determine the exact rate of wetting.
