Polyolefins
Collective designation for polymers produced from olefins by radical polymerization. Examples are PE, PP, PB, PIB, etc.A common property of polyolefins is the lack of any functional group leading to a low polarity, which leads to a poor adhesion of coatings on untreated polyolefins. The adhesion of most coatings on polyolefins can be substantially enhanced by plasma treatment, usually employing oxygen as process gas.
